I`m delighted to announce my October Residential Church Tour. It will run from 16th October for 3 nights.
Join me for a coach tour exploring a wide variety of churches. Staying at the Walton Hall Hotel on the clifftop at Clevedon on a DBB basis. The tour starts at Yatton Station at 2.00pm and ends there at 1.30pm on the Thursday (Monday train from London at 11.32 change at Bristol. On Thursday the Yatton return train is at 13.59). This year lunch is included in the price, meaning there are no extras to pay.

YATTON 14th and 15th century. Glorious north porch. Grand Newton monuments. CLAPTON IN GORDANO Norman with early screen and huge monument to Edmund Wynter 1672; PORTBURY Grand Norman doorway and font. Much 14c and 15c architecture. KINGSTON SEYMOUR Contains record of the 1606 tsumani that devastated the Somerset Levels. WRAXALL The parish church for Tyntesfield so full of high quality fittings and Kempe glass. CLEVEDON, ST ANDREW Substantial church of Norman origins in huge churchyard. The church in Broadchurch TV series. BROCKLEY Medieval church remodelled in the Regency period with rare Regency glass. CLEVEDON, ALL SAINTS Cruciform church of 1859 with fine fittings including the local Eltonware. CONGRESBURY Unusual 15th century architecture, three exceptional War memorial windows. COMPTON BISHOP 13th century church with high quality architecture. Stone pulpit, Prowse monument. MARK Clustered arcades, medieval glass, Four massive Evangelists from Bruges! Two pottery lions!! AXBRIDGE Unforgettable nave ceiling, wall painting, monuments. BADGWORTH Small medieval church, unusual in the region. 17c pulpit CHEDDAR Noble building, medieval glass, 19c work by Butterfield, brasses. WEDMORE Wall paintings, brasses by Edward Marshall (V rare) LYMPSHAM Variety of roofs, Georgian gallery, 13c sculpture. EAST BRENT Tallest of spires, plaster ceiling, bench ends, medieval effigies, medieval lectern BRENT KNOLL Best bench ends in Somerset. Unforgettable coloured memorial.
