It doesn`t seem that long ago that we were anticipating the arrival of summer - and here it is.

I`m still taking bookings for my coach tour of Leicestershire Churches Tour which runs from the 10-13 October. It really will be a good selection of churches, many of which are difficult of access. Next Spring we will be visiting South Wales. More details on that one in a month or so.

I have just finished writing Churches of Cambridgeshire which will be out next Spring but my other three volumes in the set (Norfolk, Hampshire, Kent) are all currently available from your chosen outlet.

It goes without saying that I`m delighted that The Friends of Friendless Churches (of which I`m a Trustee) has just taken over South Runcton Church, Norfolk (pictured). This neo-Norman gem would be an oddity anywhere, but more especially in Norfolk where we expect to find late medieval churches. We are visiting next week to decide how best to tackle the expensive repairs required and also to see Fordham church which has just emerged from a winter of major repair work kindly funded by a Covid Recovery Grant. Whilst talking about Norfolk you might like to know that Beachamwell Church, gutted by an accidental fire last year, is to be rebuilt and work will be start soon. Last week I was delighted to be able to showcase Norfolk Churches to an orchestra visiting from the USA, and also to lead an Arts Society tour of 4 historic churches in East Sussex.

On  Saturday July 16th I`m leading a public day tour in Norfolk for another organisation with which I`m involved - the Centre for Parish Church Studies.  We are visiting churches in the Breckland area by coach which starts in Norwich. More details are available from 01603 611530.

Until next time - Happy Churchcrawling!
